Payroll Manager

Salary: up to $100K+
Summary of the Role:
KeyStaff Professionals is partnering with a dynamic construction firm to find a Payroll Manager as part of their succession planning efforts. This hands-on role is responsible for processing payroll, tax compliance, and payroll system administration. This position is ideal for an experienced in-house payroll professional who excels in accuracy, process optimization, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Job Summary:
- Payroll Processing
- Process payroll ensuring accuracy in earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes
- Handle union reports, tax filings, and final payments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings
- Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes and procedures
- Oversee payroll system updates and integrations
- Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team
- Manage year-end reporting, W-2 preparation, and system updates for tax regulations
- Act as the Project Manager for payroll-related projects
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Union Payroll experience
- Proven in-house payroll processing experience
- 10+ years of payroll experience, ideally in construction and union settings
- Strong knowledge of Oracle HCM Cloud/JD Edwards and advanced Excel skill
- Multi-state payroll experience
