Senior Operations Accountant

Location: Northwest Suburbs

Salary: Up to $100K

Summary of the Role:

KeyStaff Professionals is seeking a Senior Operations Accountant for a client in the Northwest Suburbs. This is a position where you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting accounting operations. This role emphasizes managerial accounting tasks, focusing on equipment leases and loans, inventory management, and fixed assets. Job Summary: 

  • Record cash receipts and prepare detailed cash reports
  • Oversee accounting and reporting for construction equipment and real estate assets, including managing depreciation, book values, tax basis, and associated loans/leases
  • Work closely with the Equipment Division Financial Analyst to track asset acquisitions, dispositions, and internal transfers
  • Maintain and reconcile material inventory accounts
  • Support hourly payroll processes by gathering and reviewing timecards, as well as preparing labor-related reports
  • Assist in creating schedules and reports for ownership, operations management, and external auditors
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the team

Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or Finance
  • 8-10 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in the construction or trades industry
  • Proficiency in fixed asset accounting and inventory management
  • Strong skills in analysis, organization, and time management
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and team-oriented with a focus on achieving collective success
  • Multi-entity accounting support experience
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred but not required
